A three-step course aiming to deliver practical, focused, frontline palliative care skills and knowledge to all ambulance clinicians across the whole Southwest. The first step will be a focused handbook on palliative care, sent out before the course start date.
The second step is a virtual, interactive teaching day on July 12th. During this day we will build on the concepts in the handbook.

Making Sense of Evidence Annual Conference, 21 September 2022 -

The conference will include a plenary from Professor Amanda Burls and a choice of workshops which will be open to members of the public, doctors, allied health professionals, nurses, public health professionals and therapists within the South West Peninsula (Cornwall, Devon and South Somerset).

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training replaces the Level 3 qualification in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS). Upon completion, you will be able to begin a career within a teaching environment as a support function, assisting teachers. It’s a great course for anyone wanting to get into teaching and is a fantastic stepping stone from an Assessor’s qualification or on to the Level 4 Certificate to become a teacher of adult education.

The NCFE Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is what you will need if you want to teach within the further education or lifelong learning sector, teaching adults.
Suitable for a wide range of trainee teachers, this qualification gives you the necessary understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher.
This course requires 100% attendance of 14 taught days by the awarding body to achieve the qualification. It also requires you to submit a portfolio of work. Failure to do so will mean you will not pass the course. Please think carefully about whether you can commit to this before applying.

This e-learning course has been written by SWASFT to align with the CoP practice education guidance and has been written primarily with clinicians in mind. It is endorsed by the CoP and suitable for the NQP portfolio.
However, this non-accredited course is suitable for any staff who is involved in practice education or mentorship of other staff, and the learning outcomes and content are universal.

Taught by Specialist Paramedics in Critical Care from across the Trust, this Airway workshop aims to cover topics such as:
- Escalation of airway management techniques
- Oxygenation and ventilation strategies
- End-Tidal CO2 waveforms and their clinical significance.

An introduction to ECGs - A real 'start at the beginning' refresher session for those new to ECGs, those who feel they want to refresh right from the start of ECGs, or anyone who wants to go back and in over the foundations again.
This course is open to ALL staff and Paramedic Science students, but Paramedic grade are advised to attend ECG Level 1 to ensure that they meet the minimum Trust standard.
