Course content includes:
- Maternal assessment
- Haemorrhage during pregnancy (including vaginal bleeding; gynaecological causes)
- Normal Birth
- Managing Birth complications
- Postpartum Haemorrhage
- Basic New-born resuscitation – immediate care demonstration
- Pregnancy induced hypertension and eclampsia
- Maternal Collapse/cardiac arrest
Hands‐on workshops:
- Cord prolapse
- Vaginal Breech
- Shoulder dystocia
We would prefer that staff please wear uniform on the day to help bring scenarios to life (please contact us separately if you feel this may be an issue for you).

- SWASFT apprentice paramedics are allocated a place on one of your Sim dates, so please do not apply here or you will end up with a duplicate space.
All eligible staff must have completed the PROMPT on-line learning in order to register and be able to provide proof of completion on registration.- UPDATE: We are now accepting proof of sign-up to the PROMPT e-learning, instead of proof of completion. This is to ensure that staff aren’t disadvantaged if they haven’t had a chance to complete the e-learning by the time a face-to-face date becomes available in their area.
