Helping healthcare students of tomorrow learn about dementia

Time for Dementia is an innovative training program, created to enhance the knowledge and empathy of healthcare students towards people living with dementia and their carers.

It works by matching two or three university students with a family affected by dementia, and arranging home visits up to three times per year. These visits offer students a unique and valuable learning experience, while providing families with an opportunity to share their personal stories and insights about living with dementia.

Benefits of participation include:
  • Sharing your personal experiences to help build a better future for those affected by dementia

  • Supporting the education of future healthcare professionals

  • Opportunities to help guide the programme’s direction

  • Connecting with others
