The multi-professional 20 credit Pathophysiology and Diagnostic Reasoning for Advancing Practice (PADRAP) module will build on knowledge to improve understanding and critical evaluation of the pathophysiology and diagnostics of common diseases seen in clinical practice.
This level 7 (Masters level) module explores the links between the pathophysiology of disease processes and the diagnostic testing process with emphasis on learning to discriminate between different diagnostics modalities and the evaluation of results.

This clinically-focused unit has been developed in response to the need to enhance the assessment skills of healthcare professionals across the health and social care sector. The unit offers the opportunity for healthcare professionals to enhance their skills in the assessment of adult patients and further develop their knowledge in the relevant pathophysiology applied to stages of the assessment.
*This module is best suited to paramedics wishing for a refresher in assessment skills- NQPs may find that the content of this module covers skills and theories they have recently done during their BSc*

Applicants must be registered healthcare professionals working in urgent or primary care settings with at least one year’s post registration experience. All applicants must have identified a practice assessor upon application.

This unit has been designed for registered healthcare professionals in primary care and urgent care services caring for both adults and children. It will help practitioners to develop their knowledge and skills in the assessment, planning and treatment of a range of minor ailments commonly presenting in children.
