*Applications are open to registered staff from across SWASFT, however please be mindful that mode of delivery will vary & some may require face-to-face attendance.

Opportunity for registered clinicians to select from any* available University of the West of England (UWE) module (2026/27 Academic Year).

Please carefully read the following conditions:
  • Funding offer is equivalent of up to 1 x (Level 6 or Level 7) 20 credit module within the 2026/27 Academic Year (available cohorts only).

  •  If you find a short course at a lower level, this is also acceptable.

  • It is not possible to secure funding for a full degree programme.

  • It is not possible to select a UWE module in which there has been an alternative application route, even where that application deadline has passed. This includes the following modules: Leadership & Innovation; Minor Illness & Minor Injury in Children; Pathophysiology & Diagnostic Reasoning for Advanced Practice; Physical Assessment & Clinical Reasoning of the Presenting Child; Dissertation; Supporting & Managing those at risk of suicide; Pre-Hospital Trauma Care; Remote Clinical Decision Making). Any applications for these modules would be rejected.

  • It is not possible to choose any modules relating to independent prescribing. Please contact us separately about this if you feel you meet criteria for IP.

  • Only one application per person (only one module across all universities per successful applicant is offered as standard).

  • It is not possible to offer places on modules which require placement or a SWASFT supervisor or mentor. It is the responsibility of the student to check this & CPD are unable to support with any such requests.

  • It is the responsibility of the applicant to check that they meet the entry requirements of selected modules prior to completing an application for funding. *

  • All funding needs to be approved by SWAST CPD before any applications are made with UWE: any early attempts to enrol with UWE will unfortunately be rejected.

  • Capacity on all modules is managed by UWE, therefore at the point of application there are no ring-fenced places. After closing date, and following review of applications, UWE will be approached to ascertain capacity. Only then will places be ring-fenced for purchase.

  • You are only guaranteed a place a point of successful enrolment with UWE. Applicants who are successful with their funding application are therefore advised to enrol on their chosen module promptly – therefore we suggest having a fairly firm idea of which modules you may like to do at this stage.

  • It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they are available for all module contact dates & are able to commit to the study.

  • It will not be possible to process any individual applications post application deadline.
*Please do not apply directly with UWE unless instructed to do so as unfortunately your application will be rejected.*

In response to feedback – we are trialling this as a new option for requesting HEI modules via UWE. The process is very different to that of other modules already offered – if this works, we will consider repeating this approach in the future (budget permitting).
To set expectations from the start, we anticipate we will not be able to offer as many places using this approach than with other modules at UWE. The aim as always be to support as many of you as possible.
