A new and exciting opportunity has opened up for students in collaboration with the Review, Learn and Improve (RLI) team.

We would like to be able to offer Student Paramedics on all programmes the opportunity to attend the RLI meetings that take place across the trust.

 

Student involvement

Students can be involved either by:

    • Being directly involved in the incident and being invited by the RLI team

Or

    • Having no direct involvement in a case and therefore being an observer on a panel

The opportunity has been opened up to allow students to attend these meetings, with a view to enhancing their understanding of the RLI process and to see how support is given to staff and change influenced. The culture of incident reporting within SWAST is not that of apportioning blame, but one of understanding, supporting, influencing and developing future practices.
