The NIHR’s Senior Research Leader Programme helps nurses and midwives develop their research leadership skills to improve research in their organisations and beyond.

As part of NIHR Nursing and Midwifery’s commitment to promote research inclusion and foster a vibrant, inclusive, and integrated nursing and midwifery research culture, they are launching the third cohort of the Senior Research Leader (SRL) Programme for Nurses and Midwives. Following the success of the first two years, they are keen to expand the reach and invite more exceptional senior nurses and midwives to join the programme.

The Senior Research Leader (SRL) Programme offers nurses and midwives the opportunity to shape and embed a research culture within their organisation and beyond. You will use your knowledge and personal experiences to motivate and enable others to get involved in research projects that help improve patient care.

The NIHR are looking for people from various health or social care backgrounds who are good at leading research activities, connecting with others, and who bring fresh ideas. They are particularly keen on welcoming individuals from diverse health and social care backgrounds who possess strong research leadership and networking skills, as well as innovative perspectives.

The duration of the programme is 3 years.

There are a series of webinars aimed at those from underrepresented research settings and will also provide an opportunity to hear from some of our current SRLs on the programme. To register click on the links below:
