Bristol Children’s Hospital have kindly offered to facilitate shadowing within their Emergency Department. This is a fantastic CPD opportunity with the potential to enhance your familiarity with managing paediatric patients.
The ED are keen to tailor this to the individual, ensuring that it’s a useful experience for you. Therefore, the learning outcomes are to be determined by the learner.
One to two shadowing days are available for each learner. One learner is able to shadow per 3 week period.
Eligibility
This opportunity is available to registered clinicians.
Lead time
There will be a lead time of approximately 6 weeks to enable the hospital to process the necessary paperwork.

To enable you to get the most benefit out of this opportunity, the application form will require you to include a few sentences on your experience and what you hope to gain from shadowing in the ED department. If successful, you will be contacted once a spot becomes available.
No shows
Please note: Due to the complexity and administrative effort involved in organising these opportunities, short/no notice drop–outs are likely to jeopardise this offer continuing. Please consider your availability carefully before submitting an application.
Due to the nature of this partnership, dates are not pre-determined; they will be arranged based on the availability of the learner and time frame of the hospital’s administrative procedures.
