Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) provides comprehensive training for emergency and healthcare professionals in the UK who need to deliver advance trauma care in pre-hospital settings. Based on globally recognised principles and evidence based trauma management, this intensive course equips participants with the essential skills to respond effectively to trauma incidents, ensuring the highest possible standard of care or trauma patients before they reach the hospital.
Duration: This is a 2 day course; 2 nights’ accommodation with breakfast is included. Please note that this event is based in Herefordshire, and CPD are not able to cover the cost of travel & expenses. Therefore, you must be able to commit to this once signed up.
Eligibility: Registered staff, NQP to Para (not open to students)
Learning objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Assess and manage trauma patients
- Apply the MARCH algorithm (Massive haemorrhage, Airway, Respiration, Circulation, Head injury/Hypothermia)
- Control catastrophic haemorrhage
- Perform advanced airway management techniques
- Recognise and manage chest injuries
- Stabilise spinal and head injuries
- Adapt trauma care for diverse environments

What’s included?
2 night’s bed and breakfast (the night before and first night of the course), and the course itself. We are not able to cover travel to Herefordshire or any other expenses, including meals. Please be aware of this before booking.
