A great opportunity to be involved in a major incident simulation run by UWE for final year students.

The nature of the day will be unknown to students as it will happen in real time for them. When volunteers sign up (via the form below) you will receive further information, including full joining instructions.

*Please keep this to yourselves so the students don’t find out through the grapevine.*

This event is being supported by police, fire and HART.
  • Major incident table-top exercises
  • High-fidelity major incident simulations
Eligible clinician roles (one person required per exercise)
  • Operational Commander
  • Operational Officer
  • Experienced Lead Paramedic
  • Tactical Adviser
  • Critical Care Paramedic
On the day

Location:  UWE Bristol, Glenside Campus, Blackberry Hill, Fishponds, Bristol, BS16 1DD

Please arrive on time and meet in Glenside main reception. Parking is available free-of-charge, but please ensure you know your vehicle registration number so it can be booked in on the day.

A hot lunch will be provided.

*Please ensure you arrive wearing operational uniform and have all personal issue equipment with you required to conduct a normal shift.*

  • The primary learning objective is to actively participate in a realistic, large-scale simulation which will involve you responding to a major incident as part of a multi-agency team.
  • You will need to be willing to support and encourage final year student paramedics, physician associates, adult nurses and film-making students as you undertake your professional role and engage in a Hot Debrief as a means of promoting reflective practice.

You will receive an e-CPD certificate for your participation.
