EMERGENCY AMBULANCE ASSOCIATE PROGRAMME – SELF BOOKING
Groups that self-booking is open to:
Bank staff – e.g.
- Staff who solely work on a bank contract EAA preceptee contract
- Staff with a secondary operational EAA preceptee bank contract, such as EOC staff who hold additional assignments.
Eligibility:
The EAA uplift programme is only suitable for those staff that have been moved into the EAA Preceptee position by HR, who have been informed they are eligible for this.
We will be trialling self-booking of the EAA uplift programme for certain groups of staff. If you are in one of these staff groups, information will have been sent to you direct to let you know you can self-book.
Programme Design:
Once you have completed all six training days, you will be able to work to the EAA scope of practice.
The course is delivered both face to face and via virtual delivery. The syllabus has been written to reinforce existing knowledge and skills alongside the additional elements of the EAA scope of practice. There will be an assessment component to the course to ensure that you are confident and competent in the new scope of practice. Full details of the course will be discussed on the first day.
The virtual element will be delivered via Microsoft Teams and will require a laptop, phone or tablet (your Trust iPad will be ideal). If this poses an issue for you, please let your course director know ASAP. Virtual classroom set up will take place on the first day of the course.
Example Programme:
*Location availability* Only certain training locations have the extra capacity to offer self-booking spaces.
Different venues may show as available at short notice due to cancellation or sickness, but cannot be guaranteed.
EAA uplift training is currently running in South and West Devon and Wiltshire only. We will update as soon as we can for other areas.
Why is this?
- Training days need a minimum number of staff to attend to make them an efficient use of Education Lead time. If we weren’t efficient, we wouldn’t be able to provide enough essential training for all staff over the year.
- Currently self-booking places are only available in the main (bigger) training centres only. This is to ensure we have viable numbers for the sessions to run.
How does it work?
- Other locations are likely to become available but unfortunately, we can’t guarantee availability at the site most local to you.
- When completing the form, if a venue is at full capacity, the date and location will no longer appear as an option to book.
