Covid-19 – BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) Colleagues – Trust Letter

This letter has been sent out to recently to all staff via email.

As you will have seen in the bulletin last week, as well as on the news and the updates regarding Covid-19 and in particular the disproportionate impact that this has had on BAME colleagues across the UK.  Whilst this situation is worrying for all our people, this will be a particularly worrying time for our BAME colleagues and their families.

Please do read the letter and ensure this is shared with any BAME colleagues & Students to enable them to:

Identify themselves to their line manager if they consider themselves to be at risk to ensure they can be fully supported with any specific needs and individual concerns

    • To feel confident to discuss any concerns that they may have regarding Covid-19 and the impact this is having on them and their family
    • To share, in confidence any concerns they have regarding any underlying health conditions so that these can be taken into consideration

Individuals are being asked to speak to their line manager (if you are a student you can talk to your Practice Placement Coordinator and local Operations Officer) to discuss any concerns they may have.  We have the necessary processes in place to enable risk assessments to be undertaken to ensure you are able to understand any risk or vulnerability to ensure individuals are fully supported and any necessary actions can be implemented to support them.
