We need paramedics who convey patients to Southmead, Taunton, Exeter or Derriford Hospital to participate in the PRESTO Study!

PRESTO aims to evaluate a decision aid called T-MACS (Troponin-only Manchester Acute Coronary Syndrome) to rule in or out acute coronary syndrome. The study involves recruiting and gaining consent from non-STEMI adult patients with chest pain and taking a blood sample pre-hospital. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the study is attached.

Training can be completed online by watching four videos via this YouTube link PRESTO Channel

OR we can come and deliver face to face training if a group of 2-3+ paramedics are able to suggest a mutually convenient date/time!

If you are happy to complete the online training please email us once you have watched the videos and we will send you a link to the very brief training confirmation survey. Once this is completed we can get your study packs sent out so you can recruit eligible patients!

Southmead ED is now live and accepting PRESTO patients 0400 – 1700 Monday to Friday

The SOP for this trial is here:
