New dates are now available for Practice Educator (Mentor) update days for qualified, active Practice Educators across the Trust that support our future Paramedic workforce.

*The days are also open to qualified Practice Educators who do not have a student, but are available and ready to be allocated one – see the payments & overtime section below for more details.

These days will be offered on overtime with an incentive payment and will all be delivered virtually.

This virtual update will consist of a 5 hour session via Zoom that will provide an update on the mentoring process, the professional aspects of mentoring, feedback and assessment, as well as providing a forum for discussion on any issues or concerns you have.

Practice Placements Coordinators will be on hand during the session to answer questions alongside the tutor.

The day attracts a £100 (pre-tax) incentive payment and also 5 Hours OT at your usual rate
If you attended a Face to Face PE update last year, you only need to attend the 2.5 hr myESR update.*

*If you wish to attend the virtual PE update this year AS WELL for a refresh, you can do both. (You will be funded and paid the OT for BOTH sessions).

Please see the ‘Payment & overtime’  section for more incentive / OT payment information

The day attracts a £100 pre-tax incentive payment and also 5 Hours OT at your usual rate – The OT will only show on GRS towards the end of the month you have attended, (when all the registers of attendance are sent to ROC). The incentive is paid automatically. *It take a number of weeks to receive this payment.

These incentives are to show appreciation to Practice Educators’ (Mentors) hard work, and to enthuse Practice Educators (Mentors) new and existing, to ensure they can deliver a quality placement experience for students who will become our new colleagues.

The £100 (pre-tax) incentive payment will be paid to you automatically providing you have attended the full day online and provided your ESR number.

The 5 hrs overtime will not show on GRS until near the end of the month (even if your update day is near the start). This is because all the registers are sent together for ROC to process at the end of the month.

These incentives are to show appreciation to Practice Educators’ (Mentors) hard work, and to enthuse Practice Educators (Mentors) new and existing, to ensure they can deliver a quality placement experience for students who will become our new colleagues.

Because of this, incentive payments and OT will only be paid to existing Practice Educators (Mentors) or those who are able to accept a student (as the 1st 3 questions of the booking form below). For those working in a role were they cannot be allocated a student, we cannot pay you the incentives or OT.

e.g. If you are an OO, etc. and are not in a position be allocated a student in the near future, you can still attend, but you will NOT be paid the incentive and OT. *HART staff are paid to attend because of the HART student placement programme.

If you attended a Face to Face PE update last year, you only need to attend the 2.5 hr myESR update.*

*If you wish to attend the virtual PE update this year AS WELL for a refresh, you can do both. (You will be funded and paid the OT for BOTH sessions).
