This course is the standard 3 week IHCD D1&D2 emergency response driving course, it prepares students to fulfil the role of an emergency response driver in either an RRV or DMA.
The course focuses heavily on the system of car control as set out in RoadCraft along with an appreciation of the risks involved in emergency response driving and the legal aspects that surround it. Upon successful completion, an IHCD D1&D2 certificate is issued.
This course is aimed at new staff – Emergency Care Assistants (Funded), Graduate paramedics
Two theory and two independent practical tests during week 2 and 3 of the course. This course is taken on a pass / fail basis. Candidates should possess contemporary knowledge on the Highway Code.
