BSc (Hons) Practice Development: Developing Paramedic Practice with the University of Cumbria’s Centre of Excellence, commencing in September 2018
The BSc Practice Development Distance Learning Programme with University of Cumbria offers you the opportunity to ‘top up’ your Paramedic qualification to the degree level.
- HCPC Registered Paramedic – either IHCD qualified, or hold a Foundation degree or Diploma in Higher Education Paramedic Science
- A minimum of two years’ experience working as a Paramedic in an operational setting within the Trust
Applicants who do not have a prior level 5 qualification (i.e. a Foundation degree or Diploma) will also be required to submit a Portfolio as part of their application to University of Cumbria.
This programme will enable successful applicants to undertake a part-funded distance learning programme in under two years.
This opportunity (Cohort 5) is part-funded by the Trust. The Trust has been fortunate enough to secure external funding in order to cover the cost of the first year of study, the initial induction (£1,650), and the additional cost of any Professional Portfolio reviews for IHCD applicants (an additional £500).
Currently, there is no funding secured for the second year of study, meaning you will need to fund this yourself, totalling £1,500. The Trust will pay upfront for this and will recover the cost directly from your salary over the course of 12 months, commencing deductions in September 2019.
